Privacy Policy
B's House Limited ("we", "us", "our") runs the café, play sessions, parties and booking system at bshouse.co.uk. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We are the data controller for the information described here.
You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@bshouse.co.uk, or by post at B's House Limited, 2 Bath Street, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, LE65 2FH.
The information we collect
We only collect information you give us directly, and only what we need to run the site and your visits:
Account details — your name, email address, phone number, postcode and a password. Passwords are stored only in securely hashed form; we can never see them.
Booking details — a contact name, email address and phone number, the date and time of your visit, your party size and age groups, and any notes you choose to add (for example allergies or accessibility needs). You can book as a guest without an account; the same details apply.
Children's details — if you save a child to your account we store the name and any notes you add. We only ever collect children's information from a parent or guardian, never from children themselves.
Gift vouchers — the purchaser's and recipient's names and email addresses, plus any personal message you include.
Communication preferences — your choices about which emails you would like to receive from us.
How we use your information
Under UK GDPR we need a lawful basis for everything we do with your information. Ours are:
Running your bookings — taking, confirming, amending and cancelling bookings, and sending the emails that go with them (confirmation, cancellation and a day-before reminder). Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
Gift vouchers — selling and redeeming vouchers, including emailing a voucher to your chosen recipient on the date you pick. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
Your account and loyalty — keeping your account working, remembering your saved details, and linking your loyalty rewards. Lawful basis: performance of a contract and our legitimate interest in running the café.
Marketing — telling you about offers, new events and menus, or our newsletter, but only where you have opted in through the communication preferences in your account. You can change your mind there, or by contacting us, at any time. Lawful basis: consent.
Legal record-keeping — keeping records of purchases where tax and accounting law requires it. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
We do not sell your information, we do not use it for profiling or automated decision-making, and we do not use analytics or tracking tools on this site.
Payments
All payments are handled by Stripe on their secure checkout pages. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our systems — we store only a payment reference and its status. You can read Stripe's own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Who we share information with
We share information only with the trusted service providers that make the site work, and only so they can provide their service to us:
Stripe — payment processing.
Resend — sending our booking and voucher emails.
Square — our loyalty programme.
Our hosting and database providers — who store the site's data securely on our behalf.
Each provider processes your information only on our instructions. We may also disclose information where the law requires us to.
Cookies
We use a single essential cookie that keeps you signed in to your account. It expires after 30 days at most and contains no tracking. We do not use analytics, advertising or any other third-party cookies.
How long we keep information
Your account and saved details are kept while your account is active, and deleted on request.
Booking and purchase records are kept for up to six years after the transaction, as required for tax and accounting.
Signed-in sessions expire automatically after 30 days.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent (for example to marketing) at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@bshouse.co.uk. We will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
Information travels to and from the site over encrypted connections, passwords are stored hashed, and access to personal information is limited to the people who need it to run B's House.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page. Last updated: 6 July 2026.
